Description
My personal interpretation of Godzilla. Going down a more fictional route.A giant creature dormant in the seas power boosted in it's sleep by the atomic testing conducted in the Polynesian islands. This peaceful dormancy of draining radiation under the test site would be short lived as a weapon called the oxygen destroyer would be tested on the atoll. This weapon would devastate and mutilate Godzilla giving it a heavily scarred appearance and negating it's body's ability to repair it's cells.
Godzilla having woken up as a result of the destroyer began to seek out the nearest source of radiation. Decomposing through Tokyo and being and bombarded by the military, Godzilla was aimed towards the newly constructed Tokai Nuclear power plant. Nearly dying on arrival Godzilla fell onto the plant both destroying it and positioning to absorb all of the radiation that would leak out. While absorbing the radiation Godzilla's cells started to repair and he returned from an emaciated Shin like form into something much more akin to the original Godzilla design. [height: 50 meters]
Dr Serizowa decided to destroy any traces of the Oxygen destroyer after the incident.
Godzilla returned to the sea to hibernate and fully repair over the course of 5 years. During this time a pair of large bird like organisms that produced heat were disturbed by construction near their volcano residence. Several more monsters were disturbed as well.
Godzilla would later return to land when he was woken up by a vessel luring a monster away from a near by city. While Godzilla is indifferent to other monster's existence and does not normally go out of it's way to fight them, monsters have begun to target Godzilla. Godzilla grows larger and changes in appearance as he absorbs radiation from power plants and other monsters (although the mass he gains is from eating other monsters).
Radiation is still a commonly used source of power. Radiation is almost always absorbed by kaiju when it's leaked into the environment and areas don't stay irradiated for long. Due to the reliance of radiation as a power source humans have created weapons for combating and repelling Kaiju. Some of the methods employed are masers, mechas, Ships (such as the Gotengo), and high density infra sound.
Masers are a anti-kaiju weapon developed to repel and damage kaiju. They disrupt a passive field of energy that kaiju emit to shield themselves from the beam attacks of other Kaiju. Disrupting the field may potentially leave the monster temporarily vulnerable to both military attacks and beams.
Eventually godzilla reaches full ontogeny assuming the form shown above. [height: less than 156 meters]
Godzilla's growth rate is determined by the amount of radiation and food consumed. If Godzilla absorbs a lot of radiation his appetite for biomass will grow.
This version of Godzilla would borrow heavily from both the anime and final wars Godzillas.
While it would have the agility of final wars Godzilla (toned down a tiny bit) it would have the raw proportional power and defense of anime Goji.
Godzilla would be able to deploy a powerful field of energy to reduce the potency of kaiju beams making contact with it. Godzilla could also overload this shield generating a pulse of energy. Godzilla would be capable of regenerating from massive wounds at the cost of internal radiation. And then there's Godzilla's breath.

believe it or not I only looked at Heisei and Millennium when drawing this, and only for the face.

Neither are diplodocids.
Which, just like Godzilla are not lizards.

Like a monitor lizard
either way I've been wanting to redo the design

I love your interpretation of Godzilla
To me you interpretation looks like a combo of shin, earth and legendarys

Will we ever get to see the other forms of this Godzilla design? Like the shin-esk form?

likely
just depends on what I want to do and when

Likely a very sturdily built theropod with a long tail and more upright posture
ik the reply is late, but at least it's a reply

It's fine, dw - trust me, I'm not one to judge about late replies.
I could see him being the terrestrial equivalent to Godzilla, tbh - maybe his tail spike could be made into a xenomorph-like slashing blade?

perhaps
I like the idea of a row of croc like scutes leading up to a blade

Ooh, same!
Maybe the feet could be structured like a mix of Gorosaurus' classic ones and the famous Leaping Laelaps painting?

Hey bud, what happened to the Godzilla that was 156 meters? Did you think it was too big or something?

I wanted the godzilla to fit with the height of the average redwood, when I decided the average was too high, the godzilla shrunk as a consequence

also funnily enough this is roughly the height that Legendary Godzilla is in several scenes (and what I wish the official height was)

kinda wanted redwoods to be taller, but Godzilla looking down on a redwood forest is a tad bit more impressive
