Description
Travis A Appy, appaloosa extraordinaire, poses for his holiday picture. Ok, so it's his boxing day picture, and he didn't exactly pose I had to run around behind him trying to get the picture, and ended up kneeling in the snow--probably where he thinks I belong. Anyways, Travis retired from his life as a school horse a little over a year ago, due to chronic lameness. Lucky for him.....he's sound again. And since he is ride-able we found him a home where he can be ridden. We will miss him, but I can't afford an extra horse in the line-up, and he is a bit of bastard, for a horse that made a great school horse, things could go wrong.I could have a four year old kid lead him though a field of spring grass, not a problem, he could work an obstacle course without a rider just from watching, he jumps--I nearly fell off the first time he went over not through! he works feed lots, he was going to be our million-dollar-dressage-appy (flying changes arn't his thing, not on a straight line, but he can piaffe and passage), he would work a full day, plus carry me about for lessons, and be good to do the next day, he could take a year off and be just the same the next day. He canters on voice command, he side passes on voice command, to make him gallop all you so is whisper "fly Pookie" and as smooth as silk he gallops, then collects to piaffe. Oh, but he is trouble, he could go up, he could kick out, he could bite--he likes to frighten people he doesn't care for. He needs to be fed separate and not too much sugar. Oh troublesome darling.
So Travis A Appy, appaloosa extraordinaire is returning to the homeland, to Washington, not yet, but soon. Be a good boy Pookie, but remember to have fun--and frighten a kid or two for me.
