Description Disclaimer: This was actually a learning experience for me as well, haha. And sorry, I don't use Photoshop to draw so I don't have any equivalent brushes, but the steps should be similar to MS5.

This is for Lady-RyuuXX87 but also for anyone else who has ever asked me for a tutorial or tips I'm not that great at both art and coloring in general, but many people have said they liked my shading, and while not a shading tutorial,  I hope at least you learn something from this~!

I tried to make this as newbie-friendly as possible, but taking screenshots of certain things would've made this longer than necessary... If there's anything unclear, feel free to ask in the comments :>

You can certainly skip a few steps (as in, you don't need to draw 'streaks' and you can use a gradient on the irises instead of manually shading it) if your drawing isn't a close-up or you don't care for as much detail.

Also, if you're the type of person that doesn't draw pupils as part of the line art, simply make a new layer between "eyes" and "glow" (this should automatically clip it to the "eyes" layer; clip it if it doesn't) and set the Combine Mode to 'Multiply' or 'Linear Burn' (whichever you like more). Draw your pupils with the same color as the iris or darker.

Here are my brushes if you're lazy (ONLY for Manga Studio 5 and Clip Studio Paint): www.mediafire.com/folder/9bigb…

Thanks for these tips and guide, been trying to learn to draw and colour and I can never get down the eyes down as good as I want, this makes it quite nice now. Also cheers for the brushes, I wondered about teh transparent was needed if the blend/blur tool CSP has but maybe the brush is better. I probably rely on Blur too much so the brush is probably a good way to go Again Thanks for this!

I'm glad I could help ^^ My transparent brush is more of a "smear", I guess? Works very differently than the blur tool, though I'll admit I've only used the blend brush once or twice but I remember I didn't like the way it blended so I made my own You could even use the my main color brush to blend if you don't apply much pen pressure, though that's entirely up to you

This tutorial is fairly old and I've since changed how I color eyes (though I still use the same brushes, haha), but I still hope it helps nonetheless :>

You should be able to follow the steps in Photoshop, I just don't have any brushes for it D; And you can totally cut corners, just use a gradient for the iris instead of shading it to make it easier. Also, the equivalent for "Add (Glow)" in Photoshop is "Linear Dodge (Add)".

It actually doesn't take that long when you get it down, lmao, maybe 3 minutes tops.

I hope it does help you
