hhaha actually, I've recently started liking the video game characters more (Green + Leaf) because they allow me to kind of have my own interpretation into their relationship

Yeah! I mean, what do we actually know about their relationship? Well, we know they compete and that he says "smell ya later"--but it could be that they're the best of friends, or bitter rivals. The game leaves that flexibility wide open, for you to construe what you will about it.

I've never thought of myself as a shipper before, but I'd started writing a Leaf-centric fanfiction and found that the two of them have such a great relationship. They're not a pairing in my story though, not romantically. It's too early to say if they will or not: but I find their interactions the most interesting to write.

I write because I can't do the visual medium. It's great how words can produce vivid images and images can bring a ton of ideas to mind too. This picture is a great example of that because it says far more than what you can see, or read in the dialogue.

I especially like the bits in the "smaller" font size: It's such a nice day, ...pesky woman, and Hey, that tickles. It's adorable.

How old would you say they were here? I get the feeling this is after their whole League competition thing.

Hahha well, I must confess that I've never actually played the FRLG game (I've only played Silver version of pokemon actually...). Most of my information/perspective about character relationships comes from what I've read in various fanfics + bulbapedia |D;;
I have a tendency to ship characters in whatever fandom I'm in just because...I don't know LOL. But yeah, I really enjoy what I've read and the dynamic I've seen portrayed between Green and Leaf in a lot of pokemon fanfics on livejournal.

When I drew this one, it was based more on the manga (Pokemon Special) because I had been reading that at the time, so I'd say it's somewhere after the GSC arc in that? I don't know how that would translate into the games, but yeah probably after the League competition, when they're more...comfortable with each other and on a friend basis

Oh, wow. You've come up with all these great illustrations without ever having played the game? That's very impressive. It also explains why her hair's different, though.

Hm. Actually, that makes me wonder. Do you know of any good Leaf fanfics based on the game canon? I don't know what the breakdown between manga and games are among the ones you've read, but hopefully there are some good ones around there somewhere.

But yeah, I had thought that they seemed a little... less antagonistic here. You can see they have a past but they're mostly over the rivalry now.

ummm I read a lot of pokefanfics on livejournal now, [link] such as there
there are also a few decent ones on fanfiction.net though, if you want to try over there! (I generally just use the search engine haha)

but yeah, my view of the pokemon game characters has been heavily influenced by what I've read X)

haha yes, this actually is pokemon fanart! they're green and blue from the pokemon special manga. or I guess you could say from the FRLG game

haha yup, they are Blue and Green from the Pokespecial manga. I like Red too actually! *O* Well, I think I prefer his game versions to his manga persona.

And lol, I actually have no idea about Eevee/pokemon evolutions. I'm more into the characters as opposed to the pokemon...hehe. but I do think that they are cute! XD
