this picture is awash in abstracts (visual abstracts---I don't mean it's lifeless!): light & darks, sweeping horizontals & short verticals in the upper 3d (a beautiful balance), shadow looking into light, light receding into shadow. It's amazingly elemental, in a way, but you've woven it all into a visual spill, and it's joyous. That large bldg in the top/center, typical: It's face is saturated light, gloriously flat; but its side recedes in darks and mimics the whole sweep of the picture; and it's dappled by the elegant lines of trees which break up its thick surfaces. A beautiful piece of visual architecture. Bows.

Such a relaxing romantic setting. Its interesting how you have it so the person sitting on the chair is almost a shadow, but he rest although in B&W is very bright.
