OC is a widespread abbreviation for "OpenCanvas," which is itself a computer program used to create digital art in a somewhat "painting"-like setting. The most common version referred to in this community is OC1.1, which allows users to network their images, so as to collaborate on something (or even just watch each other work) in real time. OpenCanvas has the ability, also, to create "event files," which store every action taken during the construction of a work, and enable them to be replayed, which in effect allows you to watch a "movie" of the art being made even after it's long been finished. Finally, OpenCanvas is preferred by some because of the unique appearance it lends to blended colors, though some artists sometimes eschew it for the same reason.
