We loved the house at first - at least according to the brochure views. The interior was also very valuable and tasteful. And the rent was super cheap.
But walking the hour and a half round trip every day to the road where our car was parked, through the jungle path to carry food for the pets - which we had agreed to as part of the rental contract - was becoming increasingly overwhelming. We had to buy new machetes every few days because the monkeys kept stealing them. And the matter of the snakes is a chapter in itself. The cat - yes, exactly, the one you thought was a chipmunk on the roof - didn't even catch mice.
Unfortunately, we had paid for a year in advance.
