Yep. In my second year, teaching in the UK. Took an illustration degree but could never bring myself to put enough effort into work for other people

I see what you mean. I used to be a teacher in Dalian, China. I always enjoyed teaching, but because of my love for video games, I ended up in a company, not a school. I don't know much about the education system abroad, but I've been let down by the way of teaching here. I'm guessing education in the UK must be very good.

Equally, I have no real frame of reference. It feels good, like the right kind of values are upheld, learning over knowledge, progress over attainment, etc. Not perfect though, assessing things and aiming for the best grades all the time can be a bit of a nightmare.

I see what you mean. Still, those values sound pretty good. Sadly, they are also the exact opposite of what education over here is trying to achieve...
Btw, you sound like a very good teacher. Do your students know you have a DA account?

They know, and I recommend it to them as a arts community, but I don't give my own details Internet is a dangerous place for teachers sadly.
