There is actually a fairy piece called the Spy (Fairy meaning it dose not exist in orthodox chess, but is used in variants)
"The Spy can move two spaces forwards or sideways, or can move like a knight one forward and then one horizontally or vice versa. It can leap over pieces and can only move two spaces; thus, it is "trapped" on its own color like a Bishop."

That's very interesting, I had no idea.
I honestly can't picture how it would be used in regular chess. It seems like just a pawn that can move in 8 directions.
