Description
So this is something I've been working on for the past few months... not this picture, I did that this weekend. This is an unlettered, un-logo'd cover for a comic book I'm pitching around to small press folks. We'll see how it goes.
What is it, you're wondering? It probably won't kill me to tell you... It's STEVE FERATU: vampire detective.
Don't go telling all your friends yet. I got nothin' lined up as far as, you know, distribution.
Anyway, I have 6 pages of the book, let me know if you want to see them some time. I don't have a big problem posting them, really.
Let me know what you think!
Thanks!
-Bob

That's a fantastic idea. I adore his name XD
Hope you get interest from publishers. Will he have a sidekick-a Watson to your toothy Holmes?

He has a sidekick indeed.
I'm going to remain silent about him for the time being.
I, hopefully will post the pages based on the outcome of the publishing stuff in a few weeks.
You can see him then.

Awww...spoilsport XD
Looking forward to seeing more, now you have my interest well and truly piqued!
Is it a bat, a fair maiden who he's tempted to bite but can't, or an igor? XD
Argh, I hate waiting.

You are welcome. I can't wait to see the story pages.
If you don't mind me asking, which publishers did you contact?

At this point, just Ape and Image.
While the cover is very painterly, the interiors are still my Saturday Morning Cartoon look. Ape and Image are fairly friendly to that sort of thing.

Have you thought of ONI? They might be reseptive as well. Do you plan this series as a ongoing or a mini/finite series?

I checked with ONI and they said they were not long accepting unsolicited submissions.
It could go either way for me, really. I was actually thinking about a series of graphic novels. Each one being a separate criminal Steve tracks, all leading to the finale.

Well that sucks about ONI.
The graphic novel thing seems to be a good route to travel. The only downside is getting buzz around your book, the build up will be slower. But considering big publishers charge now a minimum of $3.50 for a comic, if not more, any method has wings.
Have you ever considered selfpublishing? You could get these people to print it up. [link]
And see if these people will distribute it. [link]

You are welcome.
Being self published isn't easy. But at least you can control everything, no editorial influence.

I love old school vampire styles like Nosferatu and Dracula. Fuhget about deez new age ravers and latex waring punk vampires! Not to mention the shiny ones heheh...
I will now put this in my head next to other things I am highly anticipating.

HAHAHA!
Nothing says vampire like sparkling while wearing latex in a rave.
What the hell happened to creepy old dudes in suits? That stuff RULES.
Thanks for the kind words. I hope the folks I send it off to dig it.
