Description "Gods and spirits dwell at your side. Though none may look kindly upon you, though you may know hurt, and sorrow, and loneliness, know that they are always there, watching over you. And with that knowledge in your heart, be at ease. Seek you own salvation." -Mahou Tsukai no Yome, Chapter 16

Whooo! More Mahou Tsukai no Yome fanart!!
I've had this one on the back burner for a long time (like since October or something ;A; ) while I worked on other projects and commissions. I'm glad to finally finish it and post it to the world.
First time really working with tones, and I think I did alright.

Chise and Elias are kind like Yin and Yang.  Power speaking, she is the light and he is the darkness.

However, if it wasn't for Elias, the light dormant in Chise never would have awaken.

I guess that there is some light in his' soul, though not literal. More than once,  he was like a lighting house to guide Chise, like the first time she turned into an animal, or the aerial tried to trick her into the fairy world.  I like that scene in the lake, when she was drowning in the cat-killer's ooze and sudenly she heard Elias' voice saying: "Don't look down".

My guess is that probably Elias is made of more than one individual - perhaps the fusion of someone that was previously evil (which explains his memories of eating people)  with someone good, like Devilman.  Or Naraku from Inuyasha, whom was made from several youkais - though, in Naraku's case, all of them were evil.

This is BEAUTIFUL! I was going to ask what part in the manga this is from, but from the sounds of it this is an original composition? I am so impressed - I would like to be able to visualize an original piece of fan art to draw, but I resort to panel sketches - it brings me happiness ^_^
Well done! One day I hope to achieve this level of sharpness, accuracy and visualization!

The quote is actually from a fan scanlation by the group, Maigo (you can google them), from chapter 16 uhhhh... page 20 (here: www.mangahere.co/manga/mahou_t… ), I can't take credit for it xD. But I can say that it inspired this piece
And don't fret, I referenced the hell out of panels from the manga to draw Elias relatively accurate to the manga's style.

Oh I didn't mean the quotation (though that too is nice) - I meant the drawing itself! ^_^"  I'm amazing how you put this piece together.
I need to practice creating an original piece out of referencing angle pictures.
