Mayumi has very few friends, one being her silvery shovel Shaberu, and the other being her shadow, Kage. Panda just wished to draw these two how they look like to Mayumi. Kage is a stalking Graven who only exists and lives because of the energy he feeds off of helping people who he follows. A shadow in the truest sense. Any one who is lonely enough in the world will do any thing for a friend, even selling their soul or transferring personality to an inanimate object. This is the first time Shaberu has every been physically drawn in the light of beauty that Mayumi always sees her in. The scene is them sitting in the Druid's grove.
