Personality: Opal is cheerful, kind and often naive. She loves nothing more than helping out Spire.

Biography: Opal is the older daughter (by one day) to Spike and Ember. As Spike and Ember spent more time together, they quickly developed feelings for each other, despite Ember not wanting to admit it. Spike was forced to be the first to admit feelings, and once he did Ember followed suit.

After a few years together, Ember had two eggs a blue one and green one. She wanted them to grow up in a loving environment like Spike had, so they passed them onto Twilight’s children to hatch, teach and raise. Ember promised to teach them the ways of the dragon, but didn’t want them to be heartless brutes.

Opal was hatched first by Midnight Spire and a day later, Peridot was hatched by Aurora Shimmer. From a young age, Opal was cheerful and innocent. She just loved helping out and being around caring ponies. She still carries this personality, making her incredibly pleasant to be around. She has yet to get her wings.
