Description I've been drawing Bionicle sets in the MNOG (Mata Nui Online Game) art style for a while now, and I thought I'd upload a basic 8 step tutorial on how to do it for those of you who are interested.

Cheating a bit here by virtually tracing it, but it's easier to visualise this way for the purposes of the tutorial.  It's easy enough to do this without tracing (I don't even own Velika, and others have been done freehand too), but I will say it's a lot more time consuming to make by just looking at stock pictures or having a set in front of you, and it's easier to miss things too.

I've not included everything here, there are lots of things you can do, but these are the basics.  If you have any questions, let me know!

I was just gonna ask if you traced a photo of your own posed Velika, but it seems tracing is just one of many skills you possess. I don't think I'll use this toturial, but it's pretty cool and easy way to draw MNOG style.

Yeah, it feels like cheating even to me, but it is extraordinarily time consuming to do it to the level of detail that I do purely by freehand. I've not tried yet, but I imagine the rough detail from in MNOG would be easy to replicate on the same level.

Typically, the picture is used more for scale than raw tracing. I have a terrible camera, and it doesn't pick up on much in shadow, so I usually try and have the model with me to observe.

Looking forward to seeing whatever kind of stuff you make!
