Description
Freyja (or Freya, Freja) is a goddess in Norse and Germanic Mythology.She is the twin sister of Freyr and the daughter of Njord.
She was originally worshipped as a fertility goddess
but in the Eddas she was often portrayed as a goddess of love, beauty and attraction. She was also associated with war, battle, death, wealth, magic and prophecies. Freyja is also associated with love, beauty, sex and gold. Freyja was said to be the most beloved, honored, and renowned among goddesses. She is one of the most popular deities of Norse mythology.

This is a lovely photo manipulation, the wings and atmospheric effects are excellent. I also like this version of Freya, it's more like how Greek goddesses are usually portrayed, and the costume you've created is quite lovely.
I do want to give you some feedback on the photo you've used for the figure, though. It is not a good choice for a photo manipulation this drastic. The pose the woman is in is a somewhat awkward position which is fine when it's a normal photograph, but you have altered this one quite a bit and the result is that it almost looks like a painting. This is a lovely effect but when you are painting the human figure you must be more careful with your pose and proportions than in a photograph, and this photo manipulation is so good that it is almost a painting. For instance, the way that the model has her arm extended over her head looks fine in a photo, but here, where you have added extra lighting and jewelry, it looks a bit awkward. The armor added over the model so that you cannot see the contours of her waist and stomach also makes it hard to tell that she is actually bent at the hips quite a bit and contributes to the proportions of the figure looking a bit off. Obviously this is impossible since it is a photo, but because it's not quite just a photo anymore the eye interprets it the same way it would a painting.
Please don't get the wrong idea, this is a lovely image. I would just say to beware of using photos with a lot of foreshortening or with an unusual perspective when doing photo manipulation that is so extreme that the viewer can't quite tell if the image is a photo or a painting anymore.

The photomanipulation is beautifully done and the colour scheme very well-chosen. But if I were to judge the way the theme is illustrated, I see no connection between this and the Norse goddess Freyja. It's a beautiful girl with wings in a fantasy armour, and very far from how Norse people imagined her. The armour is not only non-historical but also impractical in battle since it leaves many vulnerable spots. The hawk wings are the only link with the actual deity, although Freyja's fjaðrhamr (feather-guise) is rather described as a cloak instead of wings, but your interpretation is plausible since it's never specifically mentioned. However, I think your entry was among the best in the contest and the prize well-deserved.

Her mother was named Vanessa by the way, she was the queen of the Vanes.

The name of Freyja's mother is unknown, but scholars have theorized that it might either Njǫrun - a female counterpart of Njǫrdr, Freyja's father, as she was both his wife and sister, or perhaps Nerthus (after the old Germanic deity). Vanessa, as a name, did not exist in the Norse language and society.
