This is lovely Panny, makes me think of summer and dusk and warm, gentle breezes.

Thanks, Gill... not terribly original but I feel like I'm starting all over with UF5, and it's fun!

You took a busy spiral shape and simplified it enough to bring out the form.
I like the shapes, the colors, the depth...everything, in fact. I like the splashes of texture across the 'flowers' as it adds a nice touch of interest on an otherwise flat surface. I like the little spirals all over the image.
I can't wait to see what you do to this in order to consider it finished.

you are toot suite! To finish it I want to sneak into your house late at night and steal your textures

A successful and beautiful "exercise" Panny ~ your work is always lovely!

This is really interesting cause it's so unlike your other works. I really like the look of the rose-ish forms in the centers of the small spirals.

thanks Beebee! Nothing ventured, nothing gained This one still needs some more work.

The only new thing I've really explored in UF5 so far is the importation of images but... I'm of a mind now that this really is an excuse to call MM fractal art!
I love what you've done here, although I can't say I understand your explanation lol!

Thanks Anna, and thanks for the ! I rendered at custom settings of 0/2 (really slow, but much more anti-aliasing). Didn't help much on this one

Interesting; just looked, so how do you get - or indeed, what is - 0/2 (I looked in settings)?

Anna, when you choose to render a file to disk, there are several settings in the "render" window, under "Anti-aliasing" "Normal" is usually sufficent, but sometimes "custom" settings are required to bring out the detail of fine lines. Custom settings like threshold 0, depth 1, subdivisions 9x9 will increase dramatically the render time, but the outcome is worth it. On this fractal [link] I rendered at 0/2, and it took over 100 hours for 4200x4200

ahI gotcha now. threshold and depth were what you were referring to, I just wasn't sure.
LOL! I think my pooter would go up in flames from overheating for that long!
I see subdivisions there, but have never sussed out what those are?
