That depends, anywhere from 6 hours (the sketch I call 'Royal Snooze') to 75-80 hours (Fangs III). This one took upwards of 50 hours I think but most of the sketches range between 25-40 hours.

Wow! Your ability to create wonderful shadings just using charcoal is impressive! Keep it up!
May I ask you what kind of blending tool do you usually use?

Thanks again. For blending I use a brush and a blending stick but mostly the brush.

Thanks. The whiskers are acrylic paint, in case that's what you mean by whites.

ooooh that explains why it's so sharp and bright and crisp! good to know, I thought this was all charcoal - it's beautiful, great use of mixed media

It's waaaaay too time-consuming to draw around whiskers and charcoal is very hard (or impossible) to completely erase once applied copiously as in the very dark areas of the sketch, hence the white acrylic paint. Since it barely covers a percent of the entire area of the sketch I don't mentioned it though, to be exact, it is indeed mixed media. I have seen others who in fact go through the trouble of sketching around whiskers but that would take a lot of time and therefore reduce the number of drawings I can produce in my limited time on this planet .
