Description
finally.... I put my sh*t together (Sortta) and finished this work once and for all.
To be honest I'm not very happy with this work. I made the lineart too fast. I did the shadowing as fast as I could and I overlooked a lot of details.
The only thing that looks more or less repectable is the Kalashnikov AK-103. And before you mention it... I KNOW!!! The Russian Airborne Troops (VDV in it's russian acronym) use the older AK-74 and not the newer AK-103.
But I wanted to draw the 103 so I did this knowing it's not accurate.
Well.... I'll try to get into coloring the NATO victory picture in the next few days but that one will take a lot of time because it has a lot of details
After that is dones I will try to resume working on the linearts I've still to finish.
Until then... See'ya in the Battlefield!

Aha!
Trying to hide the lack of detail by clever use of lighting!
Is that a GP-30 or GP-25?

Well... her blue beret is a ripoff from the VDV (IMO) so that's why they look similar

Regardless of how long your next project takes, the results will be quite pleasing.

Her name is ANYA! I think back in the 90's the Russian military tried to use the T&A tactic to boost morale within their ranks.

Hmm, I don't know... Somehow it has seems some boring and dark...
It was possible to place her on a background with flying IL-76, paratroopers and BMD...
Or somehow differently...

Though pretty much different enough, she still reminds me of your other Russian OC... perhaps it's the blue hat?
π: 0 β©: 1
Panzerfire In reply to BoggeyDan [2009-10-02 13:22:06 +0000 UTC]
Well the blue beret is typical of the VDV. The previus characters had also blue berets because they're from the VDV.
Gotta draw more russian stuff.

I know russians was pioneers on the area, but Italians? never even heard the remote mention of they having Airborne. Do you have any futher reading about that?

I dont think the Italians qualify. They did not have pre-war Airborne units, they did not drop as a full unit, and they used US Aircraft to get to their objective, at least thats what I can gather from Wikipedia.

well all i know is the americans had the airborne idea since WW1 but didn't pull through with making anything until they started when they did during WW2 so if you're talking about who trained troops first the italians did before the americans

I still cannot find any source material that you provide to support that theory.
