Description Two months ago, I asked some of my Facebook friends to recommend me some animals that they find a beautiful trait in to add to my women o war series. I told them I would dedicate the piece to them, and work their name into it. Here's the first one I've finished so far.

I took a few suggestions that weren't aquatic animals and here's one of 'em.

my friend elizabeth suggested a spider due to the fact that they're vital to our earth, but everyone sees them as a menace just because they're different.

i was going through a rough time when i drew this so it ended up being a bit personal as well, even wrote something for it...
I may be a patchwork of ideas and issues, but you are still a piece of crap.
I have stories to tell
Webs to weave
Countless adventures to take you on
But you still see me as a piece of garbage; a burden on the world.
I am not
I may be a patchwork child
But I am beautiful
And you, in all your 2D glory, are nothing
But a caricature of what you wish you could be.
Thoughts of grandeur inflate your ugly head
And take you sky high.
Please stay there.
Leave me be.

even in this regard, the colors look fresh. a tasty treat for my eyeballs to munch on. upon reading some of the other comments it seems like everyone else has touched on the subjects i would annotate on. colors, composition, symbolism, yep the whole coffee house philosophy's been covered. RECTAL FUNGUS, there. that's something new.

I love the futurisic elements to this. I'm terrified of spiders, but this piece is beautiful. I really like the thought and imagination you put into this drawing. Fantastic!

Whoa, such a beautiful design for such a scary creature!

I gotta say that i am really in love with her hair and her arm. I like how the hair is covering her face. I like the decorations in her hair and the color of it. I really like the lips too.
But i just love her arm. The shape of it is so well done and I really like the tattoos too.
You drew her other arms very well. I like how two of them are sewing something with the needle.

I really like the grey and blue tones in this. It flows together very well.
I also like the gold needle frame behind her. It's cute how she is sewing the girls name on it. ^^

I am really enjoying your work lately. I love the watercolor tie dye backgrounds that you do with your animal pieces. It looks very good! Congrats on the wonderful work Bri!! :clap

Thank you! I wasn't too sure of this piece when I first posted...but everyone's seeming to really like it, so that's a relief. Thanks for the encouragement, it means sooo much, cause I tend to second guess my self a lot. <3

Nice (: Between these two that you uploaded lately, I like this one more, because it's clear what animal it is already when looking at the pic! I use to try seeing what it is without looking at the description sometimes
Besides, I like this one too because it's not just flooded with details and symbolism, it's a bit easier to see what feelings you want to convey here than most other things where I need to look at the description to understand. Therefore I would be happy if you would keep your art in between VERY symbolic and like this. You're drawing your feelings mainly, right? Your thoughts and ideas, and in order for others to understand it, it's better if you use more commonly used symbolisms and picture languages (:

I like her curves!

Something that really struck me is how we cannot see her eyes in this at all, as if she has something to hide. At first I thought it was an expression of shame, but I looked harder and felt that she held deep knowledge secret in her and in some sense wished desperately to share it with someone. Yet, for reasons unknown, she cannot let it escape, so she weaves and she creates, unheard and unseen.

... Just my own observation, which as always, could be dead wrong.

awww, thanks; what beautiful insight. <3

and for the most part, it's correct as well...there are some people who have so much to say, but society doesnt necessarily want to listen to them; sees them as a bug, a menace. but they're willing to open up to anyone who wants to lend an ear.^^

It's amazing to look at all the details here, with the sewing needles and such. Like, maybe she's just barely being held together, but she keeps adding more. At least, that was my feeling from looking at this.

thanks for your take on it. x3 i think that's what subconsciously was going in my mind at the time...i was in pretty much a mental shambles when i drew this.
