APRIL MCC: FORGET

Fern's life is a series of commemorating things past that they long to never forget. They hold dearly onto the past for fear it will escape them forever. Perhaps forgetting is the one thing they fear most. As could be argued by the scars upon their forehead. Four in total. Counting the lives of loved ones that they have lost.

Though, with this urgency to hold onto the past, Fern has found it difficult to live in the present without guilt. They question their moments of joy and happiness and worry it makes them selfish. But they've been learning to not feel guilty for their own peace of mind. They never will forget the past, but it doesn't need to haunt them in the way it has. With the changes in the air as winter turns to spring, Fern takes note of the moments of joy they get and they hold tight to them. They won't forget these either and they'll remember them along with their past. Now, when they smile, they think of how happy Elowen and Farris would be to see them not only surviving, but thriving... And that feels much better than grieving them forever.

AC DESCRIPTION

With the turn of the seasons, spring has lightened the island with growth and warmth. It is an annual change that Fern welcomes gratefully. Caelestis is more energetic, filling up the morning air with his ceaseless song. A sound that may be annoying to some, but they make Fern happy. She is grateful for spring and for this strange little bird who shares company and song, amidst both dark and light times.
