Now to finally resume..

Now with the artifact in hand they say goodbye to Valleyville and head back to the cosmo ship. The atlas then targets Cosmic Cove to the west. Cosmic cove is a lot like Cosmic cove galaxy from SMG2 with rocky walls surounding the cove. Despite the name the cove isn't a direct cove and only has one beach connected to the ocean, Moonlight beach. That means the cove is more of a lake. The water is clear and glistens under the eternal,beatiful night sky. Theres also parts of the cove frozen, and parts with Icebergs floating about the waters. Theres a small village called Seaside City which is mainly inhabited by bumptys and yoshis. The cove attracts a small but decent amount of tourists making it the perfect vacation place. Anyway mario heads down cove road to get to the cove. the road is filled with cheep cheeps and a new enemy, Ztar kids. Once at the cove all seems normal until mario learns that 6 children have gone missing, and one person is missing and presumed Murdered! As mario is exploreing seaside city he finds a green bumpty with a sherlock holmes cap on his head. He then says his name is Perchlock and he's a detective employed by the city to investigate. He then accuses mario, and has him line up with the other three suspects. An elderly, male cheep cheep, A female, pink yoshi, and a fang with a pair of sunglasses over his head. Perchlock then begins to interrogate them. Mario's partner speaks out against Perchlock. He then says if mario can clear his name he'll be a free man. So for a chunk of the chapter your exploring the cove uncovering evidence and finding the missing children. Child 1 is buried under sand at Moonlight beach. Child 2 is stranded on an iceberg. Child 3 is being attacked by some bloopers. Child 4 is in a cave. Child 5 is underwater. Child 6 is just wandering about, though you have to do a wild goose chase to get to him. As you find children you are also finding evidence that proves your name clear along with the other three. The first name cleared is the cheep cheep. The second name cleared is the fang. The third name cleared is the yoshi. Then finally mario's name is cleared. When mario rescues the third child though he is also saving the fang who is also a suspect. Once they're saved the kid goes home and the fang finally introduces himself as Incisor. He also states he only came to relax when he wse accused of a crime he didn't do. Mario believes his story, as Incisor believes mario is innocent. So they agree to help eachother clear their good names. Incisor joins the party! Using his ability to carry mario over small gaps to continue their work. They eventually catch up to the last child who has the last bit of evidence they need. When a giant ghost blargg attacks the child. Mario battles and wins. Now with all of their names cleared they are all wondering who the culprit is. Just then a black bandit comes running by carrying an elderly light blue yoshi. Perchlock says thats yoshis the yoshi elder who was supposibly murderred. After chasing down the bandit they find a dead end. He introduces himself as cruelty and says his plan. He had kidnapped and scattered the children to make a distraction as he kidnapped yoshis. He then flees, but he drops a mysterious icy orb. Perchlock then states that this is no ordinary orb, and that it's the key to the Fabled Ice Palace, a palace built to co-exixt with the crystal palace, though they don't look alike at all. It's also said to have a legendary treasure, The galactic artifact. They then see a pedestal with a hole that the orb could fit in. He then places the orb in the pedestal. All of o a sudden the raock wall seperates reveiling an icy stair case leading to the Ice Palace. After this a shard breaks of from the orb and Perchlock advises mario to hold on to it. Mario then walks up the staircase To the Ice Palace. The Palace is made entirely out of white ice. All of the rooms in tha palace are flooded, but htere are pedestals inside these rooms and if mario places the shard he got earlier in them, he can freeze the water. He can take the shard out to unfreeze it again as well. This must be done to make pathways of ice to walk on and to melt ice chunks blocking the way. There are also Nep Enuts which act as obstacles that go up in down. They to are affected by the freezing and can be used as plaforms or can be thawed so they move out of the way. Once mario has made it to the end he sees a pedestal with the artifact, The Andromeda Ocarina, on it. Then Cruelty drops in, takes the artifact, and says the rest of his plan. After kidnapping Yoshis he wold take the orb and leave it for them to find out how to open the way so that he sneak into the palace to steal the artifact. He then says he's tired of mario and says he'll finish him off now. Then he uses the artifact and yoshis to transform into a new form called Stonecold. Now he's slightly larger. Half of his body is water and half of his body is ice. and yoshis has been turned into 4 semi-large yoshi that are circling stonecold. The battle begins with him at 30 HP. His attack pattern is all about the eggs. If most of them are light blue, he will use icy attacks like blizzards. If most of them are dark blue he will use water attacks like tidal waves. If there is an even number of both then he'll use a combo attack. The colors will change every turn. Once he is defeated Cruelty will lie there in his normal form again with the artifact lieing in front of him as yoshis is scolding him. H e then admits the only reason he wanted the artifact was to sell it so his family could have a better life seeing as they'e incedibly poor. Then yoshis cuts him a little slack. Then Perchlock enters the room prepared to offer cruelty and his family a home at seaside city. Cruelty is then left speechless in gratitude. Then Perchlock tells mario to take the artifact as a merit for all of his hard work. Mario then obtains the Andromeda Ocarina then everything goes white.
