So Lady Gaga's album ARTPOP leaked. I'm so happy we finally have it. I mean I've waited for it for so long! My favorite song is one called "Gypsy" upon which this drawing is based. She performed it on the piano in Germany a week or so ago and I immediately fell in love and the album version adds so much more to it. I wanted to bring the colorful feel of the song into this piece and work in some other inspiration the song brought with it. By the end of the song Gaga finds happiness in her life full of wandering by finding a lover to wander with her so I wanted the picture to represent that happiness. That's why I merged the two lyrics together at the bottom: "I don't wanna be alone forever, but i can be tonight" & "Thought that I would be alone forever, but I won't be tonight." Also the line "Someday in Jakarta, I'm American, I'm Gypsy." Really inspired this as well. A year ago when Gaga was on tour the Muslim extremists in Jakarta threatened her with violence and said they would force her back into her airplane or do something else if she was allowed to perform.
