Hey, sorry for the really late reply..
All I did was make a few sketches of baby owlies then coloured them in on separate layers.
Once I had my owlies I rotated and positioned them and then flattened all the layers.
I duplicated the one layer with them all squished together and then cropped it so that it would tile together nicely
It's probably not the best explanation but it doesn't take too long once you have your designs.
