Witches have an elemental affinity and hers is fire.

She was born with unusual hair colour and it makes her feel self conscious and unsafe to walk about without head covering during day light.

She vastly prefers to go out and about during night time, under the cover the darkness.

Besides, she can conjure illumination easily whenever she needs a better look at things : )
