I sometimes still think about Shireen Baratheon and what had happened to her in the Game of Thrones tv show. I thought it was one of the most terriblest awfulest things on TV... It certainly is one of the thing that stayed with me from the show, because she was such a sweet and harmless girl and her arc showed the horrible things that people would do in the name of 'devotion' and 'glory'.

Her sacrifice granted passage for her father's army to be able to push forward where they had been blocked by an icy passage previously. I don't think it was worth the price.

I draw her here as she was burnt alive to grant her father's army victory. At first, her expression was of anguish, but as I was drawing this, she changed her expression to one that was more complicated. Half elated and half horrified, she seems to be praying for her parents' sake? I was a bit conflicted, but I let the drawing go to where it had wanted to go, at the end.
