Description
This is my tentative submission for the Federal Duck Stamp Competition. I chose a Canada Goose as my species.Β
I'm very, very excited about possibly entering the contest. It's very competitive, and I'm still very new to acrylics. Still, I want to try and enter every year, and I have until July to fix it up.Β

Also, I love the painting!Β Unique perspective, and your work with acrylics is looking very nice. Anatomy is KEY.Β Always be sure to do research.Β I'd like to add that the thumbnail looks amazing, which is the final stage of judging: "How does it look the size of a stamp"?Β Best of luck to you.Β My entry of a Blue-winged Teal was cut last year.

I am competing with Canada Geese this year as well. I took top 10 Nationally my Senior Year in 2002 for the Junior Federal Duck Stamp.Β Representing Pennsylvania.Β A little advice, PUBLISHING artwork online could be iffy.Β I'm not sure, but I avoided posting my entry last year due to publishing rules.Β They want it to be "fresh" for release upon winning.Β If you don't feel like this would get you disqualified then leave it up, because I'm honestly NOT SURE what they consider published.

This is actually sort of a study. I'm more than a little concerned about some anatomical issues, and I think I can do much better at some of the foliage which is why I won't be submitting this one.
But you bring up a totally good point. When I paint the new one, I shouldn't submit it here.

I think it is a bit unfair that there is only 17 views. Beautiful work, very elegant composition.
