Crowley and his twin sister were born in their farm home. The farm was a normal farm with enough diversity, until the kids were 14. Cerise, his sister, was found to be proficient at sun magic, plant magic specifically. Being farmers, this was great! Their mother spent weeks going through the village, looking for someone who would teach her daughter with what little they had. Crowley would tend the livestock, and take nightly patrols while Cerise would water and watch over the plants. Even without magic, she was always a good gardener and farmer.
Crowley was always happen for his sister, but he couldn't help being a little jealous. Crowley loved magic, and always wanted to practice it himself. When his mother finally found a teacher for his sister, a cherry blossom Dryad, Crowley would lurk over them and help his sister practice. Crowley was the first to ask his sister to practice growing a pumpkin. The first pumpkin she grew herself, They hallowed out, eating the insides. Crowley took the carcass and put a candle in it, carving a face in it. The more she made, the more lanterns he would make out of Pumpkins. Soon enough their farm was mostly pumpkins and so was the their front porch.
One night, Crowley, lantern on a stick in tow, saw a woman wandering their land. Crowley went to investigate, but as he got closer, she looked pale and sickly. When he finally reached her, he noticed that there was the horrid smell of death nearby. Going to check before speaking to her, he found her body, rotting and stiff. He went to speak to her, thinking maybe it's her twin when he reached for her, his hand passed her in a wisp. He mumbled an apology, going to burn her body, and returning to his home to process. He told his mom, sister, and his sister's teacher. The teacher told him about being a medium, a gift from them moon god. He took it surprisingly well.
