This is AMAZING! Jaw dropping.Β I actually just started drawing hippo yesterday (I was thinking furry animals are harder) and now I don't know if I can finish it. Β .... I was looking at my reference photo and I told myself that I should have chosen the fur instead. Β But now that I've seen this, I wish I can finish mine with perfection just like yours.

school eraser and a knive to cut it in sharp angels vill do the trick. You dont need a mono zero. ...and a emty ballpen, fork, knife or anything as embossing tool.
