My Neo-Victorian Keyboard.Featured on my blog at www.TheTentacleParadox.com
Ive always been a fan of mini sized keyboards for Ive never use the number pad thats typically on the right side. I also always hated the way traditional technology looks in contrast to all the antique furniture that adorns my home, so I always had keyboards hidden in drawers. So with this, my first SteamPunk keyboard project uses a mini USB keyboard measuring 12.5″ x 6″. This project took me well over a month to complete, with most of the time used on modifying the keyboard and typewriter keys.
Almost 2 full sets of vintage Typewriter keys were used along with a hand carved wooden space bar! The frame was carved from wood, and functional colored LED indicator lights were added to designate Caps Lock, Number Lock, and Scroll Lock activation. This keyboard has been designed so that if for some reason, the electronics ever malfunction or breaks, a replacement keyboard’s internals can be swapped out fairly easily and cheaply. The completed keyboard types very smoothly and I can touch type on it with no problems!

Way cool! [link]
I would love one of these, although I actually DO use and like using the numpad on the right.
Keep up the good work. [link]

What!?! You made this!?! I love it; very Jules Verne.
This wouldn't look out of place in the time machine in a story me and my brother were writing together.
(The time machine is a little like the TARDIS only made from a grandfather clock with an interior of red leather, dark varnished wood and brass dials.)

Now if only it had that classic "tick-tick-tick" typewriter sound while you typed...

At first I wondered if this was real or a 3D rendering. But this is simply amazing! This mixes old-fashioned craftsmanship and modern technical know-how in a great way. Really cool!

You can possibly make a fortune off of this. I hope no one steals the idea from you. The only downside is the keypad on the right, but I'm like you, I never use that. I just know people do.

Beautiful work. This single piece truly opens up the imagination. Seeing this instantly paints a picture of what the entire office/workspace would look like. Absolutely inspiring!

This is very cool, simply put. Though I'm not terribly interested in steam punk myself, I heavily respect the time and ingenuity artists put into designing some of those projects.
Thanks for sharing! Awesome work!

That's insanely awesome! Btw, I think the term Neo-Victorian is totally more appropriate than the misnomer Steampunk.
