My Neo-Victorian Keyboard.Featured on my blog at www.TheTentacleParadox.com
Ive always been a fan of mini sized keyboards for Ive never use the number pad thats typically on the right side. I also always hated the way traditional technology looks in contrast to all the antique furniture that adorns my home, so I always had keyboards hidden in drawers. So with this, my first SteamPunk keyboard project uses a mini USB keyboard measuring 12.5″ x 6″. This project took me well over a month to complete, with most of the time used on modifying the keyboard and typewriter keys.
Almost 2 full sets of vintage Typewriter keys were used along with a hand carved wooden space bar! The frame was carved from wood, and functional colored LED indicator lights were added to designate Caps Lock, Number Lock, and Scroll Lock activation. This keyboard has been designed so that if for some reason, the electronics ever malfunction or breaks, a replacement keyboard’s internals can be swapped out fairly easily and cheaply. The completed keyboard types very smoothly and I can touch type on it with no problems!

Oh my fucking God, that's so beautiful. I'd give lots of bodyparts for that keyboard!!!! You'd probably make alot of money if you started making them for custom orders.

This is SUCH a unique idea!!!!
I LOVE how the numbers are roman numerals!!
This is just... overly brilliant and amazing... I never would've thought anything like this.
I just don't understand what 'touch type' means in your description

I know you've probably had about 500 people ask this already, but are you willing to make and sell these?

That is unbelievable. I want one.
Not that you should make one for everyone who asks. Brain pain would soon follow if you do that.
I love typewriters and want one for myself. I love the look of the keys, the clicking noise it makes and just the classic feel under my fingers. I might be getting one soon and if I ever do I'll appreciate the keys and the typewriter even more so. This is beautiful and I hope you enjoy it for years to come.
*sigh of awe* it's so splendid.

I think that's awesome, but why have a light for Number Lock if you didn't build in the number pad? Just curious...
Anyway, it's an amazing piece of work, and I'm jealous that I don't have one

if you think about it the way you should, you'll go invest some money (not more than 2-3k) and creater ur own vintage keyboard "company"... All u need is a decent website and this awesome idea of yours... If you're not interested in doing that, let me know cause i am.
great work
