Wow, how bizarrely geometric. I love the contrast -- something natural placed in such an obviously unnatural arrangement. It's surreal. Can't decide if it's peaceful or disturbing, but it's definitely interesting. I am strongly drawn to see what lies beyond the archway. Such geometric trees must be supernatural. It might be a gateway.....
As always, the rule of thirds makes me feel strangely relaxed. I don't know why that is -- it just...is.

Nonono...and when I said "James Newton-Howard", I really meant "Howard Shore"
He's the guy who did the original score for the LotR movies, where your photo would have fit in perfectly.

sometimes the clearly artificial quality of a forest like this makes for a great repitition that makes this photo.

amazing almost-surreal quality...this may seem a little forward, but do you mind if I do a painting from your photo?...I think it might fit in quite well with a study of "what is a path" that i am currently doing

ok...i got a decent inkwork painting done...I think i lost some of the lighting quality that your photo really gets at, but the idea about path is still clear...it will do as a sort of ancillary concept painting...and the more subdued nature of the light will be more conducive for use in a much larger presentation of my design concepts...thanks for letting me, sort of, feed off your work : )

thanks a lot ..its just my eye naturally wants to see thirds..I dont always plan it consciously..and usually if I have taken a photo that disappoints me its because for some reason or other my unconcious mind was n't working on the rule of thirds at the time..

Lovely lines as with the one from China, and the pespective to create an avenue running through to the back of the image is very nice. Another nice woodland scene.
