Description I’m sorry for the times I was sorry
Turning over a new leaf only to keep reading the same page

Regrets turn into little seeds
They grow their roots deep in my soiled brain
Until, in frustration, I pull out my regret tree hair

Then a blank page in the book stuns with profoundness
I’ll dream of snow tonight

Old Egypt long gone soon
Miles away already
Sometimes I squint to see it again
But then turn my head back to life

So don’t take me back with your stories of lament
I’m already a sand dune in the other direction
Not that I don’t value your tale
It just brings back the seeds
That now fall on snowy ground

Beautiful...I think the first line had the most impact, because I can really identify with trying to change but still falling back into my old habits....Oh dear, I do hope I understood the poem correctly. XD Anyway, going on my favourites. Good job dude.

I really enjoyed the Biblical references in this one...(they were meant to be biblical, weren't they??) it just adds a whole extra level of meaning to an already great poem. Kind of like C.S, Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia, you know? Two levels of meaning... anyhow, great work (as usual, do you EVER produce anything bad???)

wow. that is an amazing poem. i love the abstracted style and how you did it by using a lot of imagery that in a way boggles my mind...yet makes sense at the same time. . don't you just love that? fav!

WOW. beauty. thats all i have to say. this poem reminds me of beauty and faded beauty and lost innocence and trying to forget all those unforgetable moments in your life.
amazing poem. flows really well. the only part i am slightly not as fond of.. if the 2nd paragraph. i like it still HEAPS.. it just doesnt seem as nice as all the others. not sure. i get what your trying to say, it just seems like that paragraph was a bit harder to write than all the others.. understand?
im sorry. im not critising. how could anyone critisise a work of this brilliance.
amazing work eric
peace

Thanks much! That was the pivitol line...the line that made the poem. How do you think up your poetry? Mine usually starts with a line I think is poetic and then I build off of it. Well there's a little insight into how I write! We'll I hope you have a splendid day and that life treats you as well as it can.
God bless,
~Eric

My writing usually starts off the same way, i'll hear someone say something, or read something or say something myself and just a few words will stick in my head until i write them down and draw them out! it really gets me down when there's a lengthy period of time where my mind is just void of words - nothing worse than a lack of inspiration! well, there's my insight - thanks for yours!

It's cool to hear that someone relates and knows what I'm talking about...It seems like lately society has turned lazy and nobody reads books anymore...I'm scared of our world turning into that of "Farenheit 451" where we burn books because the author had an oppinion...anywho, I've diatribed enough for today...well have a good day and make sure to take time to smell the flowers and go swinging at the park. Its not the complexity but the simplicity of life that is profound.
Later,
~Eric

Oh man...I haven't seen a warm rain in such a long while...the only form of precipitation we've been getting lately is snow, but how I long for those walks in the rain! I hope you had fun!
Have a wonderful day,

I think we should swap! It has never snowed where I live - and is never likely to either!

I like this alot. Um... not many words of advice or criticizm...i feel i'm not one to judge, because i may lead you in the wrong direction...

good job though, as the previous commentor, i like the relaxed tone of it, and the good use of words.
