Description
Its weary spine cracksOld and aged like wine
Funny, the similarities
Of wine and fine words
Taken, stored, hoarded
Rat race for profoundness
The musky cologne
It emits when its opened
will bring back the memories
of stories told yesturday
Today a new chapter
This brief moment of precedence
Will go with its regrets
But tomorow still comes
After tonight

what an amazing paragraph! a brilliant poem eric.. but i couldnt conceive anything else from you.
perhpas just alittle fragmented, but maybe that adds to the effects and meanign you were putting across. i to love the idea that something was once used by someone else. take money for instance.. it would be amazing to put a little camera on a dollar coin and see where it went.
but thats enough from mee..
top job mate

Yes I agree about the fragmentation, but a lot of that is because I break most of my sentances into emphasis phrases...its kind of like how I would read it! Hopefully you understand better now. Thank you for your consistant kindness!
You are my favorite Austrailian!
Much Thanks,
Eric

Illiteration is the lack of the ability to read...and since I need the ability to read to have the ability to write...I'm pretty sure you meant Alliteration, but since there is none in my poem, I'm somewhat confused. "Good rhyming." might have been the appropriate comment, but I'm being over-anylitical again....Thanks, anyway, for the thought!

My bad, I did mean alliteration, and I prolly just took that spine cracking phrase a little too far symbollically, to explain the confusion. Guess now I'm overanalyzing, lol.

Haha, it's fine. I guess I was being a little meticulous.

very well done... i love the comparison to old wine because just like wine, books over time get better and better because each time you read it it's like a new book, with new characters and stories. very well done...

neat! i loved the second line it is true books get better with age! i read a book then leave it on the shelf till forget what it is about then re-read it, it seems to get better the second, third, fourth time around!
Icould really identify with your poem and it reminded me of an antique bookshop that sells books that most people have fogotten and only those who truely appreciate books would buy from the store! It was well written. I look forward to reading more of your poems.

I believe comparing a book to a bottle of wine was and is a fine idea. both can be new and sweet, or old and bitter. and a glass or wine with a nice book would be the highlight of my evening. otherwise, i'd say the poems perfect.
do promise you'll keep up the good work then?

i dont liek how you said in the second line "old and aged liek wine" because your talking about a book and well it just seems odd to compare a comaprison of a book to wine. if that makes sense? and you kinda have random words in ther as well. like rat race..was that just liek off the top of your head?
otherwise this is very good. keep up the good work

I don't understand why thats weird...In poetry, sometimes we like to use this thing called comparrison..and you should probably look deeper for a meaning in rat race. It wasn't supposed to be, and isn't random. Because people have different perspectives, people will interpret things differently, so maybe you should look deeper before you comment.
Otherwise this is a good comment. keep up the good work
