Description Soggy tires splash the sidewalk
Almost in harmony with the pattering rain
Her "Strawberry Field" lips are ironic
to the Beatles tune playing in the background
She slowly sips a mocha as she subconsiously waits
For her knight in shining armor
But he's hoping a knight in blue jeans will suffice
He must still have some charm left
Behind his broken smile
10 years yesturday
As they spent the night together
Who says true love can't last?

i agree with lovelyfairy...love doesnt last it eventually becomes a habit for peopel to think thier in love and so such, but the stubborn ones, you notice always get divorced. this was a good poem, though but kinda weird...think nothing of my words your poems are all that ive read happy but mine are sad...but yes this was good and yet odd...be proud

I am proud actually. I like my stuff. If I didn't I probably wouldn't put it on the internet!

... I do... I say true love can't last. Love is so stupid. Why fall in love? Why say the word at all? It hurts you and it also makes you mad. Love just doesn't last.

Oh and i liked your poem.

'he must have some charm left'... this simple phrase really stuck out to me. i really like your refrence to modern culture... specifically, the beatles. that and just everyday actions like drinking coffee. good work, buddy.
