As my hand melts into yours, I lose track of which fingers are mine.With your head on my shoulder,
All I want to do is take care of you.
What do you see when I open up my window?
Is it a Pandora’s Box full of Tomorrows that could never turn into Todays?
Or is it what I would hope if I had any?
Is it a room full of aspirations for a breathtaking future?
These are the questions I would ask if I had courage the size of a mustard seed.

Complication questions my motives for treating you compassionately
The slender line between lust and love,
which I so often tiptoe.
Will I see you again when we’re both a little older?
I’ll be ready for these emotions that catch me off guard now.
Will you be waiting for me?

Eric this is beautiful - i can't get over your style of writing and how it sends my mind into total overdrive! i love the line "I’ll be ready for these emotions that catch me off guard now" it's as if you're just waiting to be that little bit more mature so that you can handle these waves of emotion. well, that's my interpretation - and i can completely relate! simply put, i love this.

Yeah! Funny thing is I feel like I'm ready...sort of! I really want to write her a letter now telling her how I feel, but I'm so scared! I'm sooooo glad you can relate. Thats most of the reason I write poetry, so other people can relate with me better! Thanks again for your kind words and I hope more of my stuff connects with people the way this one connected with you!
