A few months ago an acquaintance of mine died. He was a year older than me and he dropped dead in the shower. The title refers to a lot of things, the pointlessness of early death as well as the pointlessness of how he died. You see, he was a very heavy man, and a very heavy drinker. The whole "grab a beer" part is an homage to him as much as my saying that it is a pointless and irrelevant thought. While I do have a drink on occasion, I try to stay away from the stuff for the most part because alcoholism runs in my family. Frankly, addictions in general run in my family, and his death just made me realize how damaging some of the things we do to make ourselves feel better can be.

That last statement is so very true. And the title is very fitting, then...the dual homage and irony. It gave me a lot to think about; thanks for explaining!
