I've been doing a thorough investigation of Trauma Center fanfiction and decided to tabulate both OCs and characters in fanfiction through a family tree. In doing this, I have assumed that Derek and Angie get married 3 years after they meet (shortly after the events of UTK2). I have tried to reconcile canon and noncanon, pulling a few compromises each way, and so here's what I came up with. I used Microsoft Paint to create this.Key:
Red: Stiles Family
Pink: Blackwell Family
Blue: Chase Family

Well, this was back in the day when everyone seemed to really like using the OCs that CGP, ITB, and TCG came up with. I can attest to the quality of their characterization.

In a month or so I'll be completing my complete census of Trauma Center fanfiction from the timespan 2006-2008. The trends we see should be interesting.

And... about the whole Atlus beating around the bush with Derek and Angie romance. I think they actually had it in the ending. It depends how you look at it whether they kissed or not, because rather than being an actual game or anime where you can see things moving, it's a dojin game- basically a visual novel game. And so, parts are actually taken out for the people to imagine it.
In a way, she told him she loved him, saying that she'll always be at his side is a big hint for him, and I think he got that. Though, at the same time, I think he's pretty much in denial with it as well as her. Geez... :sigh:
And also from what I hear, The original version had a slightly different say to their "romance at the end". Though the English and the Japanese texts from the game might be similiar, The english totally took out the meaning behind the translation.

I know I said this for UTK2, but seriously if they don't make another game where Derek and Angie hook up I'm going on a murderous rampage of game designers with my trusty pick axe and bucket of napalm.

I agree. I mean, Atlus revealed their relationship in the absolute lamest way ever. Here is how they did it, word for word:
Angie:
Dr. Stiles, you've always worked
hard to make sure other people are
happy...
But... don't forget, you deserve
a little piece of that happiness
too.
Derek:

Angie:
...And I'll make sure the girl
who's always at your side takes
that advice too.
Derek:
Angie...
Okay, the line would have been good in the middle of a good fluff, but by itself it means little. There's not even a kissing cutscene, for God's sake! Not even a hug! I also must point out the lack of hot secks in the epilogue. Absolutely unacceptable.

I hate having to read into things so much. I just wish they would fucking put it out there. I mean yeah, the thing with the "loved one" at the end was all fine and dandy, but couldn't you at least had them hugging or kissing or holding hands or SOMETHING SO I DON'T TEAR MY HAIR OUT..?!
I mean, really. If you read into it way more, any time Angie says something to Derek that could be construed as loving, he goes "Angie...". Which is all fine and great but that means nothing to me I fucking hate Atlus so damn much right now I want to put a rock through my window.
