almost as if youΒ΄re sinking into water ... lightness and melancholy at the same time ... or like a photography of a dream ... beautiful!

and it's true. the model is a girl, 10 or 12 years old at the time, and she had that special thing about her, a light and quiet sadness if i may call it..
and it is an underwater image, you know
thank you, again

oh, a mixed blood Dragon faced by racism, that's a hell of a book. he said he wrote them not as kids books, just for himself.
good first book reading
i think mine was too simply a comics, a neighbor with older kids gave to me. and that's how i fell in love with Superman Β i was five, i have an excuse.

i'm glad you missed them, or you would have been a very weird child.
in fact discovering reading had such an effect on me that you in the occidental world can't understand. material to read are so available for you that you can't imagine how it was for me in my childhood.
i passed all of it hungry (for books) i could have cried for some, but there was no librairies in the region i lived in, they only sold stationary and school books. and my parents did not understand my needs, when they went to Beirut from time to time, they brought me back one or two.
that i read the same day and spent the rest of the month desperate for more.
we didn't even have a library at school, can you believe it?

didn't i mention that i WAS a very weird child ? and still am ?
it may sound also weird, but we also never had the concept of school libraries.
there were public libraries which i discovered when i was a little bit older ...
and to be honest - books have been always been part of my life. big bookshelfes in two rooms.
now i am thinking to throw them all ways as i shall never be able to read them again .....
that jim knopf book came from the hospital library, btw. they took out my appendix when i was like 7 or 8 ....
