On Saturday June 28th of 2008 Carly and I got the sad news that Michael Turner had passed away. At the time we were up at Wizard World Chicago, and I told Carly I was going to do a tribute piece to Michael Turner. As most of you know, or at least if you have eyes to see with you can tell he was a huge inspiration in my work. So I felt that this was something I had to do. I didn't know him as well as some people, but I at least had the honor of knowing him. 2 days after we got home from Wizard World Chicago, I finished drawing this piece. Unfortunately shortly into July, Carly was in a bad car accident, and she was unable to color it for a while. So I do apologize for the delay in getting this to you all, but fortunately Carly is alive and well, and she is back to coloring. So for the first time ever I would like to submit this piece colored by some one other than myself on my Deviant Art gallery. Thank you for the amazing colors sweety I love you.colors by...

Aw, I'm all choked up now, seriously. He inspired me to be an artist and I was followin him since Witchblade. When I walk into the comic shop and I don't see his work there on the shelves, it makes me really sad...
You did a beautiful job with this wallpaper. It's really emotional and brings together the characters he helped bring a life to and through them he will live on in our hearts.

A very fitting tribute, and sorry to hear about Carly, thought it also good to hear she's doing ok. This piece though was worth the wait, and I feel that any fan of Micheal Turner will feel honored by the tribute...as may eh, as he rests in peace now watching over us all...

this is great man... i was wondering when you would do one.. and im not disappointed.. great play off of his old work and you have the best style to channel him through. she did a great job on color also.. really brings the whole thing full circle.. good job.

Looks wonderful. A truly touching tribute. Micheal Turner also was an inspiration to me- though it doesn't reflect as much in my work as it does in yours, but still, some of my old stuff does.
He was an amazing artist and truly- we have lost a great talent.

So many good people we lost in 2008 - George Carland and now Michael Turner. My first time being introduced to his work was from "Fathom". He was an inspiration to many of us.
This is a lovely tribute to him.

Rich detail and the emotion that you captured in your pencils is perfet.
I'd like to add that i am glad carly is ok. I don't know her other then to talk to her here and there but i was wondering where she had went. Great piece by the both of you!
