Description
SUPPORT THE TROOPS, REMEMBER 9/11, HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN?This supercool car is called "VAPOR" and is used to promote the US Air Force and is exhibited by USAF recruiters.
Here's 30 pics I things I saw at the racetrack that made me feel patriotic. This is a humble & simple thank you for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines (and their families) who have made huge sacrifices in the years since the terrorist attack of September 11th.
Let's also thank the government intelligence, security and police agencies (FBI, CIA, NSA, DIA, DHS, TSA, Coast Guard, NYPD, NYFD), our allies from all around the Globe

Why did you throw Coast Guard in with the police when they should be in with the military? The sarifeces they made (and still make in a post 911 environment) exceed that of just police and fire, not to mention they are one of the five armed branches of the U.S. Military.

In addition to the military, I merely proposed we also thank the Coast Guard along with multiple government agencies and the police and fire. Please cool your jets man. We're all on the same team standing up against a crazy world of extremist terrorists. Yes, the Coast Guard makes incredible sacrifices on a daily basis. They actually are subordinate to the Department of Homeland Security alongside ICE, Border Patrol and the Secret Service (and prior to the creation of DHS they were under the Department of Transportation). By pointing that fact out, by no means do I intend to undermine their sacrifices. The govt agencies, like the Coast Guard, are in harm's way everyday including the CIA and NSA agents collocated with the US military currently serving in combat zones.

My point is that the Coast Guard is one of the Five branches of the U.S. Military, One year younger than the Army and three tears older than the Navy. Has been active in every Naval conflict since 1790, including current operations in Iraq and Afganistan. The only reason they fall under DHS, DOT, or Commerce is that they retain a Law Enforcement authority that cannot be maintained under DOD without conflicting with the Constitution. Credit were credit is due as proper acknowlegement as military and not just another Civil Agency.

I still don't understand what kind of 'credit' you're talking about. An Air Force buddy of mine is now a Coast Guard officer. I respect he Coast Guard for laying their lives on the line everyday, not only defending America from foreign threats, but also by policing American citizens within our borders.
But in your own words "The only reason they fall under DHS, DOT, or Commerce is that they retain a Law Enforcement authority that cannot be maintained under DOD without conflicting with the Constitution."
DoD aka the military is forbidden from being used against American citizens (Posse Comitatus, Executive Order 12333, Constitution, etc) all of which doesn't apply to the Coast Guard because they are primarily a law enforcement agency (that is also tasked to conduct military missions)

To quote you "DoD aka the military", you are falling short on your interpretation of "military". The Armed Forces include elements outside of DOD, thus narrowing the military to only DOD elements is removing credibility from those Non-DOD but Military personnel who serve, have served, and died for their nation. Not to mention they share the same rank structure, pay scale, benefits and retirement of the DOD branches. You shouldn't sell them short and shouldn't generalize them out of the credit they deserve.

Thanks for telling me what it's called. I'll add "Vapor" to the title and description. Heck yeah, that car drew a constant crowd of onlookers. It was pretty hard to get a decent picture of it.

Good question immortal They started with a $40-45k car and then I have no idea how much they spent tricking it out (exterior, interior, suspension, perhaps some engine mods). I would guess they spent another $50k or more so at least $100k total

Yes, that's right. This car is not in the supercar price range. It's base price is comparable to Camaro and Mustang.

I don't think it's really armored - just a recruitment promotional vehicle. That thing looks sinister inside too. The interior looks kind of faddish but they tried to incorporate the look of an F22 fighter jet cockpit with the dash and switches, etc.
