Description
Into the woods. This one I treated completely differently...more like a speedpaint than my regular sketches.
It's all done in photoshop, from start to finish.
It's interesting to see what to work with a different tool because you really see where you are overly relying on your tools, and where the tool is just there to support your vision.
I guess a little of both is good...it's also good to know where your limits are.
I think I'll do more of this.. working outside of my comfort zone.

I do so like the framing of this, that big expanse of green at the bottom gives it a really un-nerving feel

The way you use light in your art is just amazingly beautiful

The lighting is beautiful--the image has a soft, dreamy quality to it. Β It's great that you continue to challenge yourself and your artistic abilities.
Reminds me of "One Summer's Day" from the Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli movie "Spirited Away":Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaWD_Yβ¦

This looks gorgeous! I love how bright the character is compared to the rest of the drawing! Draws my eye right to her!

I like cities too... as I am getting older though.. I do prefer being in the country side.

I've passed my entire childhood in the country side... and now that I'm in a big city for more than 10 years... I'm missing the wildlife and clean air so much !

Oh it's wonderful! You don't usually do it all in photoshop?

Like a dream - very dramatic vision, but also, pure and childish. Very nice.

I don't think you have to worry about anyone saying you're not a great artist. Β Just have fun!

Man, that line you stated in the description about how the tool is to support the vision ... you just gave me an epiphany. I totally look at art differently now, thank you!

I've slowed down big time as far as completing illustrations go, but I've been trying to do little speedpaints on the weekends to give myself time to do whatever I want in Photoshop. Working with different tools and just exploring and experimenting has helped me learn more about my skill level, what I'm happy with and what I want to improve.Β
