unless... you marry someone that makes enough money to support you while you create... until you have kids and don't have time until they are grown and gone...

Unless:
1 you don't get there because no-one believed in you and you never publish art until you have so many pieces and someone (a journalist) stumbles upon them (maybe as you put a pile in the thrash?) and writes about it... and from there it's easier and you can do the art you want
2 the government puts in place some kind of basic income scheme where you don't have to work for a living and can do the art you want, but you still have to be discovered.
3 you struggle but manage to produce a story that hits the bestseller. and from there it's easier and you can do the art you want
4 nice inheritance from a rich aunt coming your way where you don't have to work for a living and can do the art you want, but here again you have to be discovered
Many ideas, I kind of believe hard works pays off, and 3 seems more realistic...

Unless you build yourself up as a freelancer through self-marketing, apply only for jobs you want to work on, and have a backup of some kind to live off of until you can sustain yourself on your own work

My boss, when I was working in a studio in Genoa, absolutely didn't want to use green, because she didn't like it.
Never!
It was a bit difficult, never to use it, in any of its variations.
