Description
There was once a man and a woman. Both were full of life, both were full of dreams.
The love they shared for each other was enormous,
So enormous that they could not help but share it with others.
They were very happy, very young, and full of life.
Once day, however, there was a terrible accident.
It was so terrible, that it left the young
woman in a comma. The doctors said she would never recover, but
he held on to hope. One day, his hope was repaid, as she awoke you
instantly saw the happiness and zest he once possessed instantly
return. But the woman could never walk again, could never bare children,
might never talk. All she could do was drift between this world and the next.
The man, he felt obliged to be by her side, until one day when she was
conscious enough to say two words, "Follow... dream".
The man could not help but shed both tears, joy to finally hear her,
joy that she was still in there. He was happy that she would let him
continue his dream, and he swore to her that he would return to her
once he accomplished it. Quickly he rushed to enlist, which was his dream,
the dream he shared with her with child like eyes that burned with passion.
And through all his hardships, she was there, in his mind, his elixir.
He would always come back, always visit her, and always hope that once again
she would come out. But she did not, all he could do was wait, and hope,
and wish. For 20 years this continued, in his retirement, though there were
many friends and guests, there was no one to give flowers to, as this is
customary in retirements. A custom were the flowers are giving to a wife, a
daughter, a mother, someone irreplaceable. Although there was a great sadness
in his life, he could not feel sad, he had his elixir. And with the same
great aura and commanding voice, he retired with a smile.
Now returning with his dream completed, he wished to return and stay true to his vow.
He became the warren of a correctional facility for teens. He kept visiting hoping
one day she would recover. He made preparations for a wedding, one that chance would
decide. He kept waiting, and hoping. But now at old age, he could hold on to that hope
no longer. Giving up seemed so easy compared to the sacrifices he made. His hope now
distant as the stars that illuminate in the darkness of the night, was given a second
chance.
It came at an opportune time, an intervention by an unlikely individual. A troubled teen
who was to spend his time there until he came of age. At first there was a repulsion between
the two. As objects of the same polarity push each other away. But he would not give up,
he swore to help them all, to build a new life rather than have them spoil as individuals.
And eventually he learned of their similarities, and that youthful love and zest for life
he once possessed. This once something he needed to hear, something he wanted to hear.
It was enough to revitalized him and reaffirm his vow. With all the preparations complete,
all he needed was for her to wake up, to stay with him long enough to say yes. With new vigor,
he continued on his path.
One day, she finally woke, it was the happiest he had been since he met the teen that shares
his passion. He had to act quickly, as the they did not know how long it would last. With the pastor
and the groom assembled and ready, he enacted his lifelong dream, to wed her. Quickly the pastor
spoke so as to not ruin the moment. When it was all done, the last two words she spoke were, "I do".
She just smiled and shook her head, probably because she was worn out from the day, so she let her
sleep some more. He could not wait until the next day when he would tell her of all the things that
happened in his life. The next day he arose to the news that he never will be able to tell her. Her
life ended that night, in her sleep. This was his only comfort as he had often wanted her to pass
away gently.
He still has that ring around his finger, and often visits her to tell her about his life.
The life they could have shared, and now waits until they can reunite again...
