"________? Ve, ________! Are you okay?" A hand frantically waved in front of your face, snapping you out of your daydreaming.

"H-Huh? What…?" you blinked several times before you turned your head to face the Italian brunette who had his eyes closed like usual and his head tilted to the side.

"What's wrong, ________?" he asked in concern. "Aren't you coming?"

"I-Italy…?" you stuttered. All of a sudden, realization dawned on you. You remembered everything: staying up late, watching the HetaOni videos, a creepy voice, the vortex, a hand… Then a huge rush of emotions made you burst out and exclaim, "Italy!"

His eyes flew open when you suddenly tackled him into a hug, causing him to lose balance and both of you fell to the ground. You were practically wailing into his shoulder and your body was shaking uncontrollably.

"_-_______? What are you…! D-Don't cry!" He tried to calm you down, but only succeeded in making himself cry with you.

"Italy, y-you…alone…don't b-be…stupid Steve…I-I'll always be with you…" were the only words he could understand between your sobs. Still, they made him freeze for a moment and stare at you in disbelief.

"Alone…?" he thought, the word echoing in his mind. "Wait…what does she…?"

"Oi! What's the hold up? Are you two coming or what?"

Both of you looked up to see Prussia and Japan standing at the door of the ominous white mansion. Japan was holding the door open while Prussia was beckoning you guys to hurry up.

"Ve! We're coming! Wait for us!" Italy helped you to your feet and softly hushed your cries. "It's okay, bella. Don't be scared. Everything will be fine as long as we're together! So please…please don't cry." He smiled his signature bright smile, but you knew that something was off; that he wasn't truly smiling. He was only trying to cheer you up. It saddened you, but you were grateful for his help. He wiped away your tears and took your hand in his, gently pulling you towards Prussia and Japan.

Japan was the first to notice something was wrong. "________-san, are you alright?"

You nodded meekly and grinned slightly. "I'm fine, Japan…"

"Kesesesese, you were about to chicken out, weren't you? After all that big talk about not being scared, you break down crying!" he laughed arrogantly before winking at you with a crooked grin. "Don't worry! The awesome me will protect you from the scary ghosts!"

You immediately fumed and whacked him on the head, earning a yelp of pain from him, while you lightly blushed. "Like hell I'm going to run into your arms! I can take care of myself! And I'm not afraid of anything! Not even ghosts!" Or even scone-colored butt-naked aliens!

"Bruder, stop provoking ________ and come inside already," Germany sighed in irritation while pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Hey, it cheered her up, didn't it?" Prussia cockily grinned with a tear still in his eye as he rubbed the spot where you had hit him. You stuck your tongue out at him childishly. He smirked and stuck out his tongue at you while folding his arms behind his head. As you, Italy, and Prussia all walked inside, you noticed Japan was about to close the door behind you guys.

"Wait! J-Japan! Don't…!" you tried to warn him with an outstretched hand, but Italy gently squeezed your other hand. You turned to face his sad, understanding eyes.

"It's okay…" he whispered to you with a reassuring smile. "We're fine."

You furrowed your brows in worry and hesitated, still unconvinced, but nodded slowly and just watched Japan close the door with a click. You, Italy, Japan, Prussia, and Germany all took a look around. There were three white hallways: one to your left, one to your right, and one in front of you. The hallway in front of you had a staircase next to it, leading upstairs.

"It's cleaner than I thought," Italy observed with a finger on his chin.

"H-Hey can we go now?" Germany stammered, sounding a little afraid. You wanted to facepalm. How can the creator make Germany so OOC? He's supposed to be the strong one here! Then again, the creator did base HetaOni off of Ao Oni Jikkyou…

Prussia smirked. "What's the matter, West? You scared?"

CRASH!

All of you jumped at the sound, even though you knew it would happen. Your heart was racing with panic and you felt the tension build. A siren was blaring in your head, warning you of danger, and the hairs on your neck stood up.

"L-Look, we really should go now," Germany urged you guys. You snorted. Too late for that.

Japan dismissed Germany with a wave of his hand. "Oh, do not be silly. It is not like there are any ghosts or anything. Where is your common sense?" He began to walk in the direction of the sound of the crash. You instantly reached out and grabbed his arm, surprising everyone.

"Are you crazy? We can't split up! Don't you watch those horror movies? Whenever the people split up, the monster takes them down one by one!" you exclaimed.

Japan arched an eyebrow with a hint of confusion and amusement in his eyes. "Yes, I watch them ________-san… (without America-san, thank goodness) …but we are not in a horror movie. This is real life. There are no monsters." He tugged his arm away from your grasp and continued to walk away. You wanted to laugh harshly and say, "That's what you think. You have no idea."

"Th-Then let's all go check it out!" you pleaded desperately.

Japan didn't even bother to look back. "I am just going to take a quick look. I will be right back."

"Be careful, Japan!" Prussia cautioned as you all watched his retreating back. You bit your bottom lip and clenched your fists. Damn it. This was the part where Japan will find the broken plate on the floor and when he returns, he'll find everyone missing, which means Steve is going to show up soon. You felt torn. What should you do? Should you stay with the group, or go with Japan? You turned to Italy, hoping he would give you some guidance, but he had his hands folded behind his back and his glazed eyes were staring down absentmindedly at his dark brown boots. He looked so lost and alone, even though he was surrounded by friends who cared about him… You sighed and closed your eyes briefly before reopening them with a hard look of resolve.
