Interesting! It seems strange that someone would have to learn about clothes and makeup just because they turn into a woman. I don't doubt this is the situation in some countries, but I know many women who don't bother more than the average man, meaning that they shower, wear clothes that are not too worn and have their hair cut once in a while; what a man would do. For people with some kinds of jobs, like busies or sales people, the situation is more like you describe. While the pressure to put time on your appearance is larger on women than on men, and most women do conform, I think it's less extreme here than in some other places.

For me this is interesting, as it points out differences in culture in different parts of the world, differences I had not thought of in a while.
