The combination of blur and grain is very well done, turning this from a cool-but-merely-cool image into something that very subtly tickles my brain. I think it's the conflicting depth cues. For instance, in the upper right part of the image, where a small branch nears but does not overlap the large trunk: When I focus on that part and that part only, I am tricked into seeing the large cubes as nearer to me due to their size. But of course, once I take in the larger structure, it is obvious that the small branch is closer to the imaginary lens, and the blurring, of course, reinforces this. So then I think, how large must the far cubes be to appear so big even though they are so distant? And I am briefly boggled.

Of course, I know the "answer" is that this is an isometric (or nearly isometric) view where objects do not shrink much relative to distance. But that is, of course, the cerebral analysis. The instantaneous visceral impression is of pleasant depth disorientation.

yes! this object makes a really weird turn/rotation, but the focus doesn't lie.
...I might upload a more complete view of the object soon

very nice, as always! did you used a special script for this or can you give me an example how such a script looks like?
