I had this idea a while back on walks ...thinking trees look similar in the ground as they do sticking out of the ground. but you really flushed this out beautifully. =']

I think that this fractal can be generated by most fractal programs. The one I use is called Apophysis.

This type of fractal is actually called Pythagoras tree, you can look it up in wikipedia.

You've got to be kidding me... this is incredible! I love how the whole piece seems to be composed of small bubbles, but from a distance doesn't bear any resemblance!

It IS composed of small bubbles... MANY small bubbles that took me a while to get just the way I wanted them to be.
