Yorkshire Puddings in British cuisine are very different... using a flour, milk, & egg batter in pre-heated hot oil (or other fat) in little metal tins and cooked in a hot oven. Very similar to pop-overs in American cuisine. Though, vol-au-vents are very common party food in the UK!
