great work

where do you get the program to do art like this? because I'd like to do some 3D models.

very good work -must have taken some time of yours - I designed my first super-class battleships with the inspiration I got from battlefleet gothic - thats why I named my classes as gothic too. check out my designs too

Thanks, it didn't take that long, by the looks of your work you have a good grounding to go into making your ship designs in 3D.

Good tip, look at the model break it down into simple shapes, you have boxes, cylinders, sphears the more complex shapes e.g the front that was done with a process called lofting which is turning something called a spline into a 3d oject. Break your model up into simple shapes and pritty soon you will hace a complex model.

Thanks, wait until I post some of my new work. Imagine Battlefield 2 meets Battlefield 2142 with plasma weapons Vs M16's.

It didn't take that long. It's when I have to map the model when my shortcomings show as I come an engineering background and not artistic.

excelent work. i loved the look of the imperial ships. this one's a lunar class, right? (it's been a long time since i played) i'm a long way from producing something of this level right now, but i'm working on it

Thanks, your right it's a Luna class cruiser the main class of ship I used. It's been a long time since I played as well. The thing about 3d graphics is that you can create very detailed models easily with only using the simplest of tools; this model was made with simple polygonal modeling, lofting and a few modifiers.

That is bloody excellent, amazing accuracy and attention to detail. Only one minor thing to change (apart from the wing mounted turrets you mentioned) the gun barrels stick out a touch to far, set them a little deeper into the ship. Keep up the great work!

Thanks, believe it or not it doesn't take that long to do.

Oops, I just noticed a screw up. I've posted the render without the wing mounted cannons. I'll have to fix that.
