Description
=====> First i would like to say you may want to full view this theres alot of detail i put inThis work is originally pencil on paper in a book
its a quick sketch that I got scanned and input into photoshop and did quite abit of work with that
the inspiration is a common one for me (but i rarely act on them), my dreams. I basically had this image flash in my mind as i woke
That image stuck with me for the day mostly the face was what i remember but never the less it gre into this what you see now
While it is macabre in nature it is actually abstract
before reading on id ask if you could look at this piece and figure its meaning and tell me afterwords
my intentions:
it describes ones mind twisting and contorting, while falling further within themselves, within their mind, wasting away.
Even though they can easily turn and leave they would choose to stay while tormented by memory, regret, and failure, with their back facing away from the real world around them, thus staying within the wall built(a self-made prison). The scratchs represent the repition the mind going over events again and again. Also this shows a stubborness and self hate, self destruction, that happens.
the window i really dont know id like to see some people draw their own conclutions for that part
well i hope you enjoyed this work

I did, I like the essence of the picture and I how you did the hallway....its just that in my perception, the figure isn't drawn in a fitting way. Its too horroresque while there's a real psychology behind the image, and that horror-element kinda takes the seriousness away.

Hi There!
You have just earned yourself an ODD ! congrats!
ODDS (oibyrd's daily deviations) are to honor the sometimes overlooked artists of dA that I personally think deserve some exposure (and ALSO, to show off people who I think are undeniably talented in their own genre of art, regardless of their #'s of fav's or pageviews. I like what I like ). Please click the link below to see your work featured and to view other featured artists. If you prefer not to be a featured artist, just send me a note and I will remove you from the list. Cheers! xoxo Sandi

You are writing and drawing about sick humans' prison and pain, about ones fallen out of society. But look at the average man, he is happiness, sex, love and money, living in his own prison, trying to fit in. Do we give birth to bars?
- I don't know... but... I'm free! -said the monkey to the bars.
- I am not! - said the bars. - I am imprisoned with apes....

i couldnt agree more
people a bared by what society think they should be or what they think society thinks they should be
what is it that makes a person free
the ability to defy, maybe, i wonder

It's totally indifferent, there's liberty and there's prison in life... neither of us knows death, but we know that it doesn't make choices, it gets to felons just as free men.

The window is merely a way out of his cephalic sunjection. The ironic part being; it's always looming about him, one needs but only to stand and take that quantum leap if you will, to acheive liberty. As you can see in my piece there is no window, no door, no gate, no hope, no optimistic outlook, no chance for escape. All there is, is my exodus, that bitter-sweet elegy and the devil's embrace is but something to be relished.

Thats the ironic part of it and there lays the tragedy. That there is escape from this place but it doesnt matter, you wont allow yourself to leave, you know there always escape, but never can it be achieved, you are lock in your mind, held by your pain, and as you said, relishing in it, turning you back to escape, and to delve deeper into the abyss to loose youself completely. The bag of bones siting is the personification of a lost human mind twisted and forever lost there is no escape here either.

yeah it is a bitch, especially when you:
#1 move out of home
#2 get a job
#3 realise how much you love someone
#4 have to move interstate from that job
#5 be 1000km away from that person you love
all in the space of like 1 fortnight.....
life's just peachy ^_^

sorry to hear about that i hope things work out for you, and as for love which do you think matter more
work or love, which one of those two can wait or be worked to support the other
i know its a stupid riddle but i think you know what i mean

I really like the perspective and depth of the composition. The details and shading are very good. The skeletal figure in the foreground is well rendered. Nice pose.

well ...i see a figure trying to run or leave a world thats caused him a lot of frustration (hence the scratches on the walls) i really like this because it shows emotion...there r a lot of feelings im getting from that heap of bones! im curious as to why he is sitting..has he finished travelling? was he ever travelling or running from sumthing in the first place?
